Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento

Ashton Blaise Whitty was born on the 1st October 1995. She was born in Berkeley, California, USA. She is an actress famous by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).

Asia Argento, born in Rome to a family which also includes actors and directors also pursued these careers. When she made her debut, she was only 9 years old in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she played the lead role in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo, and was one of the actors in The Church directed by Michele Soavi. Red Wood Pigeon was the following year and Asia as Nanni's daughters. Close Friends was written by Michele Placido and was directed by her. It was at this point that Asia's career took off as she transitioned from roles for young girls to complex and mature roles. The film was highly acclaimed in the Cannes International Film Festival. Daria Nicholodi was among Argento's favorite actresses. She was cast as an anorexic child searching for their killer. Asia's intense, absorbed acting skills were put to good use in the film Condannato a nozze. Her role as Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di the vista, a physically handicapped girl, was an arduous and intricate role, which won she the David di Donatello award for best actress. The film also featured her in a major part in Queen Margot, directed by Patrice Cereau. She was a part of Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio with Michel Piccoli in which she was awarded the David di Donatello award and the Grolla d'oro. Asia began directing short films in 1994. She also produced an episode of the film De Generazione. 1996 saw her directing a documentary alongside her father. 1998 was the year she directed AbelAsia on the famous filmmaker Abel Ferrara. This film won a prize at the Rome Film Festival. In 1999 Asia made her feature-directing debut in the form of Scarlet Diva where she was the main actor and wrote the screenplay. The film was released in May 20, 2000, both in Italy as well as around the globe. The film was awarded an award in Brooklyn's Williamsburg festival of film.
