Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde locks and a lively appearance, shares tips on how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell has worked in some of the top eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. In Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. This has had a profound impact on the way she cooks. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face difficulties. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher, she travels around the United States to discuss her culinary passion and career. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, cooking with others.
